Farris graduated from the University Southern Mississippi with a bachelor of science in kinesiology. He played quarterback for USM during the 2007 and 2011 seasons, where he was part of the 2011 Golden Eagles team that went 12-2 and beat the No. 6 ranked Houston Cougars to win the Conference USA Championship.


Farris graduated from Petal High School in 2007, where he excelled on both the football field and the baseball diamond. He was a two-time All-State shortstop for the Panthers, helping them to back to back State Championship appearances. In football he was a three year starter at quarterback, earning all-state honors as a senior, and still holds the school records for passing yards and touchdowns in a single season. Farris signed with USM out of high school to play QB as part of Jeff Bower’s final recruiting class.


A native of Hattiesburg, MS, Farris and his wife Kayla have a daughter, Margo (2) and a labradoodle, Luke (11) who is a very good boy.
